We're a metal fabrication company serving homeowners across Grove City. We handle design, fabrication, welding, and installation, and before we cut anything we go over the scope, materials, and timeline, because the finished piece has to suit the house it's going on.
The house and the ground both matter
Grove City's housing splits mostly between homes built since 2000 and homes built from the 1970s through the 1990s, with a smaller share of older ones. You'll find midcentury ranches and split-levels, historic homes, and newer traditional houses. Each one takes a different attachment detail, so we look at the wall we're fastening to and don't assume one style fits every job.
Ground-supported work raises other questions. Winters here are cold and continental with hard freezes, and the soils are deep silty clay loam and prairie ground. Crosby-Urban land soil, which shows up at some local sites, is somewhat poorly drained. That doesn't describe every lot, but it's the reason we check drainage and soil conditions before we plan posts or any other metalwork that sits in the ground.
Sheet metal, planned as a finished piece
Sheet metal work starts with what the piece has to do and where it has to fit. We go over the design, the material, and the installation together. You may have a clear picture of how the finished piece should look and still need the attachment to the surrounding construction worked out. We settle that in the scope, before anyone starts cutting metal.
A drawing or a description gets us started. The material, the joints, and the placement all have to agree before we begin fabricating, and any welding follows the specified procedure.

Stainless steel and aluminum
On stainless work we start with how the piece will be used, the design needs, and the material requirements. Saying "stainless" doesn't tell us how to fabricate or attach it. If the job includes welding, the base material, consumables, joint preparation, and welding procedure all get reviewed, and we walk you through them so you know what we're making and how it ties into the installation.
Aluminum gets its own plan. We don't reuse the plan for another metal. We review the material and joining requirements, then work through fit-up, jigging, and tacking before any welding. Tell us the intended use early, and we can go over design and materials together before committing to fabrication.
What we establish before quoting
Before we price anything, we need to know whether you want an existing joint repaired, a replacement fabricated, or something new made and installed. The design needs, materials, and timeline follow from that answer. On a repair, the base material and the joint arrangement drive the work. On new work, the fit and the attachment do.
If welding is involved, we figure out what preparation and fit-up the joint needs and which procedure applies. If the piece mounts to your house, we look at that wall's construction. If it needs posts, drainage and soil come into the quote. We raise these up front so they don't turn into surprises after the job starts.

Careful welding starts before the weld
A quick patch deals with the visible joint and ignores what's around it. We start earlier. Before welding, we check the base material and consumables, the joint preparation, and the fit-up against the specified procedure. We also review jigging and tacking, while there's still time to change the setup.
Two pieces touching is not the same as a joint prepared for the work it has to do. We set up to follow the procedure and don't treat it as an afterthought. Fabrication also has to connect to installation, since a piece can't be planned apart from how it attaches to the house or the ground.
Start with the piece and its purpose
When you contact us, tell us what the piece should do, where it's going, and whether we're working with existing metal or making something new. Mention any material already chosen, whether sheet metal, stainless, or aluminum, and the timeline you have in mind. If you have a design, we'll use it to start on the scope. If the attachment or support isn't worked out, say so and we'll sort it out together.
For an existing problem, describe the joint or connection that worries you and how the metal meets the house or ground. For a new project, describe where it will go and what's around it. We'll use that to go over design, materials, fabrication, and installation together.
